Lithium Carbonate Prices Continue To Rise And Continue To Run High In The Short Term
Industrial-grade and battery-grade lithium carbonate prices continued to rise this week. On February 17, the average price of industrial grade lithium carbonate in East China was 399,000 CNY/ton, which was 6.51% higher than that at the beginning of the week (the average price of industrial grade lithium carbonate in East China was 374,600 CNY/ton on February 13). On February 17, the average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate in East China was 422,000 CNY/ton, which was 6.57% higher than that at the beginning of the week (the average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate in East China was 396,000 CNY/ton on February 13). As of February 17, the comprehensive market quotation of industrial-grade lithium carbonate is around 403,000~430,000 CNY/ton, and the comprehensive market quotation of battery-grade lithium carbonate is around 420,000~465,000 CNY/ton.
Judging from the changes in the market, the price of lithium carbonate continued to rise significantly this week, the supply and demand of lithium ore and lithium salts in the market are still in a state of tension, and the domestic lithium carbonate gap is still relatively obvious. In terms of supply, the market was affected by the maintenance of lithium salt companies and other factors. In February, the supply remained low, and the development of production growth was relatively slow. In terms of demand, domestic production and sales of new energy vehicles continued to exceed expectations, driving the release of positive electrode material production and sales, especially the output of lithium iron phosphate remained strong.
The downstream lithium hydroxide market is on the rise. At present, the upstream lithium carbonate market continues to rise, and the cost is significantly boosted. Some manufacturers may be overhauled in late February. The supply side is expected to shrink, coupled with the positive demand side, the market is running strong.
The price of downstream lithium iron phosphate is temporarily stable. At present, the supply of manufacturers is tight, the supply surface is insufficient, the focus of negotiation is high, and the market negotiation atmosphere is acceptable. The price of upstream raw materials is running at a high level, and the price is running at a high level. Strong operation.
Lithium carbonate analysts of the business community believe that the current tight supply and demand situation of global lithium mines is difficult to ease in the short term, and domestic demand continues to rise. The demand for replenishment of downstream enterprises is still there. With the increase in operating rate, the demand continues to rise. It is expected that the price of lithium carbonate will continue to run at a high level in the short term.
