In 2021, China's Phenol Export Volume Increase 744.38%
From 2017 to 2019, The export volume of China's phenol decreased year by year, and began to show an increasing trend in 2020. In 2021, the export volume reached a peak of 135,100 tons, a record high. Around the Spring Festival holiday of 2021, the extremely cold weather in Europe and The United States led to a shortage of phenol supply, and foreign sources of goods rushed to Europe and the United States for supply. Although China did not directly participate, it indirectly drove the significant increase of phenol exported to India.
In 2021, China's phenol exports reached 135,100 tons, an increase of 744.38% compared with the same period last year. The export volume of phenol in September was as high as 33,400 tons, with a month-on-month increase of 337.51% and a year-on-year increase of 32,304.45%, setting a new monthly high.
China's phenol export is relatively concentrated. According to the export statistics of customs, China's phenol export to India in 2021 is as high as 11,500 tons, accounting for 82.57% of the total export volume. It is mainly driven by the tight supply in Europe and The United States, and Indian goods are imported to Europe and the United States.
In 2021, the export trade mode of Phenol in China was mainly inbound and outbound goods from bonded supervision sites, accounting for as much as 94.39%. Phenol export operation in this trade mode had absolute price advantage, and the export volume increased by 1377.65% compared with that in 2020.
