Revival of 'Apprenticeship' in Shanxi Coal Industry

Recently, news came from Shanxi Energy Bureau. In order to speed up the development of modern vocational education in coal industry and build a leading force in the energy revolution, Shanxi started the pilot project of modern apprenticeship system in coal industry. According to the actual development of modern apprenticeship system at this stage, Shanxi Coal Vocational Secondary Professional School, Yanbei Coal Industry School and Coal Training Institutions are selected as pilot units.

The training objects of modern apprenticeship system in Shanxi coal industry are the special type of workers in coal enterprises, newly recruited employees, the first-line producers who intend to take up and transfer their posts. The training period of newly recruited employees with high school diploma and above is one year, and that of junior high school diploma is two years.

It is known that one-year training is based on half a year to complete basic professional theory study in school, half a year to train enterprises and master-apprentice skills study; two-year training is based on one year to complete basic professional theory study in school, one year to train enterprises and master-apprentice skills study.

In addition, the newly recruited major of coal mine has attained the level of secondary vocational school or above, and can not participate in theoretical study of school, but directly participate in enterprise apprenticeship training for a period of one year. Personnel with special jobs are treated according to new recruits with high school diploma.

The pilot work will focus on promoting the integration of recruitment and enrollment, improving the employment access system in the industry, reforming the personnel training mode, promoting the construction of "double-qualified" teaching staff with the combination of specialty and part-time and mutual employment between schools and enterprises, improving the teaching documents, management system and related standards of apprenticeship training, reforming the assessment and evaluation model, formulating professional teaching standards and curriculum standards, and compiling suitable coal standards. The textbooks of modern apprenticeship work in carbon industry; building a network service platform to accelerate the promotion and application of modern apprenticeship. By the end of 2020, Shanxi Province will basically establish a modern apprenticeship system featuring both government guidance, industry participation, social support and enterprise and Vocational College education.
