On September 3, 2019, Liaoyang Petrochemical Aromatics Line Isomerization Unit Tail Hydrogen Retrofit Project was put into operation smoothly. It is known that the aromatic hydrocarbon line has two sets of isomerization units, of which the tail hydrogen of the isomerization unit of the p-xylene unit is 2200 standard/hour for 755,000 tons/year and that of the isomerization unit of the p-xylene unit is 1000 standard/hour for 280,000 tons/year. The purity of hydrogen of the two units is about 70%-80%. The original design is directly incorporated into the fuel gas network. It wastes hydrogen resources.

Liaoyang Petrochemical Company insists on taking "three lifts, three drops" as its command, problem-oriented, organizing forces to carry out in-depth optimization and formulating project proposals. It is found that only by adding some new pipelines and valves, the tail hydrogen of two isomerization units can be sent to the feed line of membrane separation, and hydrogen can be recovered through the membrane separation system. It not only increases the total amount of hydrogen production, but also achieves optimization and efficiency. During the overhaul period, the aromatic hydrocarbon line began to carry out the transformation project. The tail hydrogen of two sets of isomerization units increased the shake head, the membrane separation feeding pipeline increased the shake head, and the laying pipeline was opened. At present, the operation of the revamping part of the unit is stable and controlled, and the isomerized tail hydrogen has been sent to the membrane separation system, which has begun to produce results.
