What is the situation in the coastal coal market with zero anchorage ships

After the Da-Qin Line maintenance began, downstream users seemed indifferent, mostly actively consuming their own stocks, anchoring vessels around the Bohai Sea port remained low, and port empty berthing increased. Entering this week, the demand for coal in the South has remained low, while the upstream shipment has remained low, and the current coastal coal market has remained low in both supply and demand.
Up to now, there are only 68 coal-pulling vessels anchored in 10 coal ports around Bohai Sea. In addition to 25 anchoring vessels in Huanghua Port, 19 anchoring vessels in Qinhuangdao Port, 6 anchoring vessels in other ports are single digits, and 2 anchoring vessels in other ports are zero. What is the situation?
1. Demand is still weak.
The downward pressure of the economy has increased, and the industrial demand has declined significantly. In addition, before Daqing, the production of production-oriented enterprises in the northern part of the Yellow River was limited and emission reduction was reduced, and the Southern Cement and other industries continued to produce staggered peaks. The industrial electricity consumption has been difficult to improve, which has affected the coal demand to a certain extent.
2. Coal consumption of power plant decreases.
Temperature drops in some areas of southern China, and power load decreases. In addition, coal consumption decreases in some power plants due to unit overhaul, and daily consumption of six coastal power plants decreases to 670,000-700,000 tons. In addition, the substitution of non-fossil energy for coal-fired power continues to advance, the trans-regional and trans-provincial power transmission is growing rapidly, and the incremental space of coal demand in the south is gradually shrinking.
3. There are many ships in the south, which have not been fully released.
In the early stage, the southern typhoon-stricken areas were in the recovery period, and some docks could not be put into the operation of receiving and unloading ships normally, which resulted in the occurrence of pressure vessels in some ports in the South and affected the northward pulling of coal by empty ships. With the gradual resumption of North-South routes, the number of ships pulling coal from the north will increase later this month.
4. Downstream inventory maintained a certain level.
The inventory of power plants has dropped significantly, with coal storage in six coastal power plants falling to 15.76 million tons, down more than 2 million tons compared with the beginning of July. However, the number of days available for coal storage in power plants is still as high as 22 days, plus a certain amount of imported coal as a supplement. At present, most power plants are not short of coal except for individual power plants. It has entered the off-season of consumption, and the coal consumption of some power plants is expected to decline after maintenance. Coastal power plants along the Yangtze River are not in a hurry to make up large quantities of coal.
Coal-pulling vessels arriving at Bohai Rim Port will remain low, and it is expected that this week will be difficult to improve; at the end of the month, coal-pulling vessels arriving at Bohai Rim Port will increase, and in October, coal-power rush will officially begin.
