Coal needs revolution, but it can't change the life of coal...

Air quality should be up to standard, carbon emissions should be strictly controlled, and global climate change should be addressed... Nowadays, more and more attention has been paid to low-carbon environmental protection, and the voice of "coal removal" is becoming more and more popular. For China, if we can't live without coal, coal will revolutionize, but we can't change the life of coal... " On October 22, at the 9th global top 500 summit of new energy enterprises held in Taiyuan, Xie Kechang, former vice president and academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, emphasized that simple and rough coal removal is not advisable when making the theme report of "based on clean and efficient utilization of coal and promoting comprehensive optimization and transformation of energy"! Academician Xie Kechang pointed out that the revolution in the field of coal lies in promoting the whole industry of coal as a whole Clean, efficient and sustainable development and utilization of the chain, clean and efficient coal is clean energy. According to the strategic judgment of Chinese Academy of engineering and foreign institutions, fossil energy accounts for 80% of the primary energy in China and foreign countries by 2030, among which coal accounts for about 50% of the primary energy in China. If such a large proportion of energy is not used in a clean and efficient way, it is against the clean transformation of energy.
How should China's energy transformation be carried out? Where should the future fate of coal go? China Energy Network (www.hxny. Com) specially collated the speech content of academician Xie Kechang, hoping that readers can find the answer to the question. The energy revolution is not the life of the coal industry. The reason why we want to carry out the energy revolution is that the energy challenge we are facing is quite serious. Extensive utilization of resources and backward mining methods cause ecological damage and environmental pollution; secondly, the pressure of low-carbon challenge is huge. We are the largest producer and consumer of energy in the world. In 2018, due to the recovery of coal consumption, China's carbon emission growth rate reached 2.3%, breaking the growth record of carbon dioxide emissions since 2013; third, security challenges. In 2018, China's external dependence on oil reached about 70%, and that on natural gas reached 43%; fourthly, the challenge of efficiency. China's GDP accounts for about 13% to 14% of the world's GDP, but our energy consumption is 22% - 23% of the world's, and our energy utilization efficiency is relatively low. In the face of these challenges, we must carry out the energy revolution. For this reason, I led and organized the strategic research on promoting the energy production and consumption revolution. After continuous research and repeated demonstration, I divided the energy revolution into three stages: before 2020 is the optimization period of energy structure, mainly including clean, efficient and sustainable development and utilization of coal, elimination of backward production capacity and improvement of concentration and cleanliness; from 2020 to 2030 is the transformation period of energy field The main characteristics of the transformation period are renewable energy, of which the most important is that the value-added of GDP development should be replaced by fossil energy; 2030-2050 is the finalization period of the source revolution, at this time, it is necessary to form an energy system with rationalization of demand, green development, diversified supply, intelligent deployment and efficient utilization.
The goal of the energy revolution is to establish a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system. But these four aspects are not isolated, because from the perspective of the whole energy industry chain, these aspects are not only different but also unified, and they overlap each other in connotation. Our energy structure is dominated by fossil energy. At the end of 2018, the proportion of our non fossil energy is 14.3%, which means that 85.7% is still fossil energy. After years of efforts, in 2018, the proportion of coal in the energy structure dropped to 59%, but it is still the main energy source. Therefore, the clean, efficient and sustainable utilization of coal must be an important content and the most realistic way to achieve low-carbon utilization. We must have a clear understanding of this problem. For China, if there is no coal, it can't go on, so the energy revolution is not the life of coal revolution, and coal is the main body of energy, so coal revolution. Coal to revolution refers to the realization of green development, clean and efficient use of coal in the whole industrial chain, and the realization of clean and efficient use of coal is clean energy. The energy transformation should be based on coal. However, based on China's national conditions and energy conditions, we should make clear that coal is the basic and starting point of energy transformation. Based on the prediction of IEA, BP, OPEC and EIA on the proportion of fossil energy in the future, I believe that in 2040, the proportion of fossil energy in energy demand is about 73% - 78%, and the proportion of non fossil energy is 22% - 26%. That is to say, fossil energy is still dominant by 2040. Based on this, in June 2014, the general secretary made it clear that we are in the process of reducing the proportion of coal, but the national situation is still dominated by coal. In a quite long period of time, even in the long run, the pattern is dominated by coal, but the proportion will decline, and our attention to coal should not be scattered. In a recent meeting of the National Energy Commission, Premier Li Keqiang also pointed out that according to China's coal based energy resources endowment, we should scientifically plan coal and development layout, speed up the construction of coal transmission and power transmission channels, and use coal in a safe, green and clean way. How to optimize the energy structure and promote the energy transformation? I think we should focus on the structural optimization of the whole energy chain, and comprehensively optimize the structure of primary energy, secondary energy and terminal consumption, so as to improve the optimization.
