In October, Inner Mongolia's coal price dropped slightly

The reporter learned from the price monitoring center of Inner Mongolia autonomous region that in October, the settlement price of power coal mines in Inner Mongolia declined slightly. According to the current situation of high coal inventory in power plants, the coal price will still fluctuate slightly in the near future. According to the data in October, the average settlement price of power coal in Inner Mongolia was 215.20 CNY/ton, a slight decrease of 0.16% on a month on month basis, among which the average settlement price of power coal in Ordos was 257.78 CNY/ton, a decrease of 0.85% on a month on month basis, a decrease of 9.02% on a year-on-year basis. In the same period, the average purchase price of electric coal in Inner Mongolia was 205.67 CNY/ton, up 0.22% month on month. The industry insiders pointed out that the coal inventory of power plants is at a high level in recent years. By the end of October, the inventory of key power plants in China has reached 94.46 million tons, 1.14 million tons more than the maximum inventory of 93.32 million tons in 2018, which can be used for 27 days, resulting in the weak demand for coal mining in power plants and the slow delivery of coal from the mine mouth. At the same time, the port power coal price is at a low level and continues to fall, further driving the price of coal mine mouth in the production area down. According to the past experience, November is the peak period of northern winter coal consumption, and the heating demand will generally increase. However, under the current supply and demand situation, the demand is not expected to increase significantly in the short term, and the coal price in Inner Mongolia will continue to fluctuate slightly in November.
