Lenzing Opens New Application Innovation Centre in Hong Kong

Lenzing Group has opened a new application and innovation centre (AIC) in Hong Kong, setting another milestone in intensifying its cooperation with its partners along the value chain. 

Henceforth, new applications for Lenzing fibres are being developed and tested, including applications for the latest innovations such as Lyocell fibres from the Refibra brand and EcoVero viscose fibres.

"With the new centre, Lenzing is consistently implementing its corporate strategy, sCore TEN. One of the cornerstones of this strategy is the expansion of our customer contacts. Due to the proximity to important customers and partners in Asia, we now create a new dimension of our service offer. We are able to react much more quickly to current trends and work with our partners to deal with a wide range of topics concerning the application of our fibres, "said Robert van de Kerkhof, chief commercial officer of the Lenzing Group. 

"The new AIC is an integral part of our global technology network, from our research and development department and the application and innovation centre at Lenzing to our fibre quality laboratory in Indonesia," said Heiko Arnold, Lenzing group chief technology officer. 

"The research and development expenditures of the Lenzing Group in the amount of €46.4 million in the last financial year are an international high point. Ultimately, these investments benefit our customers because they can optimally differentiate themselves with the use of innovative Lenzing products from the competition," added Arnold.
