Pfizer acquires biopharmaceutical company Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT)
Pfizer agreed to buy biopharmaceutical company Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT) for $5.4 billion. The acquisition of GBT will strengthen Pfizer's rare disease business and help it achieve its long-term goal of selling a treatment for sickle cell disease, Pfizer said.
