Atorvastatin calcium
Indication: This drug can treat elevated total cholesterol, elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, elevated apolipoprotein B and elevated triglycerides. Patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, including familial hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous type) or mixed hyperlipidemia (equivalent to type IIa and IIb of Fredrickson classification), can use this product if the effects of diet therapy and other non-drug treatments are unsatisfactory. In patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, atorvastatin calcium can be used in combination with other lipid-lowering therapies or alone (when no other treatments are available) to lower total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. It is mainly suitable for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia; prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease and cerebral stroke.
