Pathologic paroxysmal ventriculartachycardia (PPVT) is usually called paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia. When the attack time is less than 30 seconds and can terminate on its own, it is called paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia. It is common in organic heart disease, and can also be seen in severe electrolyte disorders, drug poisoning, and during cardiac surgery. Very few patients do not have organic heart disease. Since this type of ventricular tachycardia often originates from organic heart disease (especially myocardial infarction due to coronary heart disease), it is a potentially dangerous monomorphic ventricular tachycardia. Because its electrocardiogram characteristics are similar to those of idiopathic ventricular tachycardia, the two are often difficult to distinguish. However, the latter often occurs in normal healthy people and has a good prognosis. Therefore, due to completely different causes, it is particularly important to distinguish the two in a timely manner. Therefore, we call the former "pathologic paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia" to better reflect its essence.
