Acute vulvar ulcer (ulcus vulvae acutum), also known as Lipschutz ulcer, is a non-venereal, non-contagious benign ulcer of the genitals that occurs frequently in adolescent women and young girls. It may cause systemic symptoms at the onset of the disease, and it tends to recur after a rapid course. It is clinically similar to chancroid.
