Pityriasis rosea
Wind-heat sore refers to an acute skin disease in which the skin appears macules and desquamation like chaff, with a light red and rose-colored surrounding area. The clinical features are red or yellowish-brown patches, which are round or oval, with the long axis consistent with the skin texture and covered with chaff-like scales. This disease is prone to occur in spring and autumn, and is more common in young and middle-aged people. The rash is mainly distributed on the trunk and proximal ends of the limbs, and is symmetrical. The initial larger rose-colored spot is called the mother spot, and the additional rash is called the daughter spot. The disease is self-limited and generally disappears on its own in 4-6 weeks. A few have a course of 2-3 months, or even longer, before recovery. It usually does not recur, and no traces are left. This disease is equivalent to pityriasis rosea in Western medicine.
