Description

white to colourless crystals Aluminum is the most commonly available element in homes and workplaces. Aluminum is readily available for human ingestion through the use of food additives, antacids, buffered aspirin, astringents, nasal sprays, and antiperspirants; from drinking water; from automobile exhaust and tobacco smoke; and from using aluminum foil, aluminum cookware, cans, ceramics, and fi reworks. Workers who are at risk for toxicity are those in refi neries, foundries and also weld

Potassium aluminium sulfate dodecahydrate is a hydrate resulting from the the formal combination of anhydrous potassium aluminium sulfate with 12 mol eq. of water. It has a role as an astringent, a flame retardant and a mordant. It is a hydrate, an aluminium salt, a metal sulfate and a potassium salt. It contains an aluminium(3+) and a potassium aluminium sulfate.

Drug Information

Substances that augment, stimulate, activate, potentiate, or modulate the immune response at either the cellular or humoral level. The classical agents (Freund's adjuvant, BCG, Corynebacterium parvum, et al.) contain bacterial antigens. Some are endogenous (e.g., histamine, interferon, transfer factor, tuftsin, interleukin-1). Their mode of action is either non-specific, resulting in increased immune responsiveness to a wide variety of antigens, or antigen-specific, i.e., affecting a restricted type of immune response to a narrow group of antigens. The therapeutic efficacy of many biological response modifiers is related to their antigen-specific immunoadjuvanticity. (See all compounds classified as Adjuvants, Immunologic.)
