Female urethral syndrome refers to a group of non-specific syndromes with symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination, but no obvious organic lesions in bladder and urethra examinations. It is more common in married young and middle-aged women. It is often caused by abnormal anatomical abnormalities of the external urethral opening (such as fusion of labia minora, fusion of urethral hymen, hymenal umbrella, etc.), distal urethral obstruction, urinary tract infection, and local chemical and mechanical stimulation. The pathological changes in the urethral opening tissue of patients are all chronic inflammatory reactions. Urine culture may be positive in most patients, 46% for Escherichia coli, 18% for Chlamydia, anaerobic bacteria culture can increase positive findings, and the cause of 32% of patients is unclear.
