Acute gastric dilatation
Acute dilatation of stomach refers to the high dilatation of the stomach and the upper duodenum due to the retention of a large amount of gas, liquid or food in the stomach and duodenum. Rokitansky first described the autopsy results of a patient with acute dilatation of stomach in 1842, and Fagge described the clinical characteristics and treatment of acute dilatation of stomach in 1873, which led to the in-depth study of this disease. When the stomach is dilated acutely, the contents are retained in the stomach and duodenum and cannot be absorbed, so repeated vomiting often occurs, resulting in water loss and electrolyte loss, acid-base imbalance, blood volume reduction and peripheral circulatory failure. The stomach wall is overstretched and thinned, or thickened due to inflammatory edema, or the stomach wall is necrotic and perforated due to blood obstruction, causing peritonitis and shock. The transverse part of the duodenum is compressed by the superior mesenteric artery, and pressure ulcers may occur. Acute dilatation of stomach is usually a serious complication after abdominal surgery or some chronic wasting diseases and patients who are bedridden for a long time. Domestic reports mostly cause it due to overeating.

Sodium Bicarbonate Injection
Indication: (1) Treatment of metabolic acidosis: For the treatment of mild to moderate metabolic acidosis, oral administration is preferred. Severe metabolic acidosis should be treated by intravenous drip, such as severe kidney disease, circulatory failure, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, extracorporeal circulation, severe primary lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, etc. 2) Alkalization of urine: used to prevent uric acid kidney stones, reduce the nephrotoxicity of drugs such as sulfonamides, and prevent hemoglobin deposition in the renal tubules during acute hemolysis. (3) As an antacid, it treats symptoms caused by excessive gastric acid. (4) Intravenous drip has a non-specific therapeutic effect on certain drug poisonings, such as poisoning by barbiturates, salicylates, and methanol.

Sodium Bicarbonate Injection
Indication: (1) Treatment of chemical acidosis. For the treatment of mild to moderate chemical acidosis, oral administration is preferred. For severe chemical acidosis, intravenous drip should be used, such as in severe kidney disease, circulatory failure, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, extracorporeal circulation, severe primary lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, etc. (2) Alkalization of urine. Used for the prevention of uric acid kidney stones, reducing the renal toxicity of sulfonamide drugs, and acute hemolysis to prevent hemoglobin deposition in the renal tubules. (3) As an antacid, it treats symptoms caused by excessive gastric acid. (4) Intravenous drip has a non-specific therapeutic effect on certain drug poisonings, such as poisoning by barbiturates, salicylates, and methanol. However, this product is contraindicated for gastric lavage in case of ingestion of strong acid poisoning, because this product reacts with strong acid to produce a large amount of carbon dioxide, which can lead to acute gastric dilatation or even gastric rupture.
