Acute cholecystitis
Acute cholecystitis is an inflammation caused by obstruction of the gallbladder duct and bacterial infection. About 95% of patients have gallbladder stones, which is called calculous cholecystitis; 5% of patients have no gallbladder stones, which is called acalculous cholecystitis.
