Cassava poisoning
Cassava is produced in southern provinces of my country. Its tubers contain a lot of starch and can be used as industrial raw materials or for food. However, because cassava contains tapioca glycosides, which are hydrolyzed into hydrocyanic acid by special enzymes in water, cassava poisoning can occur if eaten raw or improperly processed. Children are more susceptible to poisoning than adults.
