Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament of the thoracic spine
Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) is not a common disease worldwide, but in some Far Eastern countries, it is not uncommon for patients to visit hospitals for limb paralysis due to OPLL. The onset of thoracic OPLL is very rare even in Japan. Sometimes it can be found in patients with cervical OPLL during full spine radiography, but there are also patients who only have thoracic spinal cord lesions without cervical spinal cord lesions.
