Prurigo nodularis
Prurigo nodularis, also known as lichen nodularis, is a chronic skin disease characterized by severe itching nodules, which is more common in adult women. This disease is similar to "horse scabies" recorded in traditional Chinese medical literature. For example, the scabies in the Treatise on the Causes and Symptoms of Various Diseases records: "Horse scabies are caused by the skin and flesh being hidden and raised like roots, and scratching them does not cause pain." The old doctor Zhao Bingnan called this disease "stubborn dampness gathering."
