Tussah pupa encephalopathy syndrome
Tussah pupa encephalopathy syndrome is a central nervous system allergic disease caused by eating tussah pupa, which was discovered in my country in the 1980s. It is a syndrome of extensive involvement of the central nervous system with the extrapyramidal pathway and cerebellum as the main components. The symptoms of this disease are dizziness, vomiting, muscle tremor, flushed face, staggering gait, impaired consciousness, less speech or aphasia, nystagmus, increased muscle tension, and positive pyramidal tract signs. This disease can be diagnosed based on the exact history of ingestion of tussah pupa, combined with clinical characteristics and electroencephalogram examination.
