Spasmodic torticollis
Spasmodic torticollis is a localized dystonia involving the neck area, characterized by paroxysmal involuntary contraction of the cervical muscles, causing the head to twist or tilt to one side. It is an extrapyramidal movement disorder and an independent organic disease. However, mental factors such as anxiety and reactive depression play a certain role in adjusting the severity of the symptoms of this disease, and emotional impulse is even a factor that accelerates the development of this disease. Clinical diagnosis and treatment should be distinguished through careful clinical observation and electromyography.
