Paraneoplastic strabismus oculoclonus-myoclonus
Paraneoplasic opsoclonus-myoclonus (POM) is a syndrome of chaotic, unrhythmic, rapid and variable abnormal eye movements in both eyes that are unrelated to the direction of gaze, often coexisting with myoclonus. Opsoclonus comes from Polish, which means dancing eyes. Paraneoplastic opsoclonus-myoclonus (POM) involves peripheral nerves including subacute sensory neuropathies (SSN), subacute motor neuropathy (SMN), sensory-motor and (or) autonomic neuropathies.
