Dampness
The name of a disease. The three Qis of wind, cold and dampness combine to cause disease, with dampness as the main pathogen, and manifest as a type of arthralgia with pain, soreness and fatigue in the limbs, and the disease site does not move. "Suwen·Bilun": "If the wind Qi prevails, it is called Xingbi, if the cold Qi prevails, it is called Tongbi, and if the dampness prevails, it is called Zhuibi." "Suwen·Bilun": "If the wind Qi prevails, it is called Xingbi, if the cold Qi prevails, it is called Tongbi, and if the dampness prevails, it is called Zhuibi." Chinese medicine also believes that dampness is heavy and turbid, so after being infected with dampness, there are often symptoms such as heaviness, fatigue, and heaviness in the head. Because dampness is sticky, the lesions are often difficult to get. If it invades the skin, tendons and bones, it is often heavy and sour, and fixed in one place, so it is called "Zhuibi". Generally speaking, dampness is the disease, and the course of the disease is long, such as damp-heat disease, which often has clinical characteristics like oil in noodles that are difficult to distinguish. Rheumatism mixed with rheumatism, invading the skin and joints, often causes rheumatic arthralgia, which often recurs. The common pathological products of internal dampness diseases are often filthy and unclean, such as exudates from skin lesions and secretions from dampness and heat in the lower body, which are sticky and smelly. Therefore, people often call dampness "tangible evil" and its nature is filthy and turbid. If dampness is dominant, it means dampness prevails. Dampness is the qi of the earth, and the nature of the earth is heavy and slow. If the qi of the nutrient and defensive systems and dampness are retained together, it will stick and not move. The symptoms are sweating and wetness. The disease is mostly in the lower body, and there are differences in cold, heat, qi, and blood. It must be treated carefully.
