Glandular cheilitis
Glandularis cheilitis is also called myxadenitis labiaris. It is a proliferative disease of the mucous glands of the lips, accompanied by duct dilatation and varying degrees of inflammatory response, and is prone to secondary infection. This disease is similar to the "cocoon lips" in traditional Chinese medicine. As recorded in the Complete Book of Surgery, "white blisters appear on the lips, gradually swelling like cocoons, or swelling under the lips like black dates, dryness, cracking, itching and pain, all of which are caused by the seven emotions and the damage to the blood."
