The second generation cephalosporin antibiotics have similar or slightly worse antibacterial activity against Gram-positive cocci than the first generation cephalosporins, but are quite stable against beta-lactamase produced by Staphylococcus and Gram-negative bacilli. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococci, Enterococci and Listeria are resistant, and other positive cocci (including anaerobic cocci) are sensitive to this product. The antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus is worse than that of cefazolin, and 1-2 mg/L can inhibit all Staphylococcus aureus that are sensitive and resistant to penicillin, respectively. It has strong antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae, and Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, etc. may be sensitive to this product; indole-positive Proteus, Citrobacter and Acinetobacter have poor sensitivity to this product, most Serratia are resistant, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Campylobacter and Bacteroides fragilis are resistant to this product. Its mechanism of action is to bind to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell membrane, acylate the transpeptidase, inhibit the synthesis of the bacterial septum and cell wall, affect the cross-linking of the cell wall mucopeptide components, inhibit cell division and growth, elongate the bacterial morphology, and finally dissolve and die.

This product is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic cephalosporin antibiotic. Its activity against penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus, group A hemolytic streptococci, viridans streptococci and Staphylococcus epidermidis is the same as that of cefadroxil, and its antibacterial effect against non-enzyme-producing Staphylococcus aureus and pneumococci is 2 to 4 times stronger than that of cefadroxil. Its activity against Gram-negative bacilli, including Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, is stronger than that of cefadroxil, and is similar to that of cefadroxil. Its activity against Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella and Shigella is stronger than that of cefadroxil. 2.9 to 8 mg/L of this product can inhibit all Haemophilus influenzae, including strains resistant to ampicillin. Moraxella catarrhalis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae are very sensitive to this product. Indole-positive Proteus, Serratia, Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are all resistant to this product. The mechanism of action of this product is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell walls.

This product is a β-lactamase-stable cephalosporin bactericidal antibiotic that works by blocking the synthesis of the main cell wall polymer, peptidoglycan. Because it can quickly penetrate the bacterial cell wall and bind to the target enzyme (penicillin binding protein) with high affinity, it can kill a wide spectrum of Gram-negative and Gram-positive pathogens at low concentrations. Many strains that are resistant to other injectable cephalosporins or aminoglycosides are still sensitive to this product.

It kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis and has high resistance to β-lactamase produced by bacteria. Some common Gram-positive, Gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic pathogens are highly sensitive to this product. It is resistant to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, most strains of enterococci, and Escherichia coli.
