Sodium citrate is generally completely oxidized and metabolized in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, and its oxidation rate is close to the normal transfusion rate. The toxic dose of sodium citrate for healthy adults is about 15g, which is equivalent to 4000~5000ml of sodium citrate anticoagulant blood.
