This product is an amide local anesthetic with a biphasic effect of excitation and inhibition on the central nervous system. At low doses, analgesia and drowsiness occur, and the pain threshold is increased. At high doses, the effect or toxicity can be enhanced. Sub-toxic concentrations have anticonvulsant effects, and high concentrations may induce convulsions. Low doses can promote the efflux of K in myocardial cells, thereby reducing autonomy to resist ventricular arrhythmias. The therapeutic dose has no obvious effect on myocardial electrical activity, atrioventricular conduction and contraction, but high concentrations will slow down the conduction velocity, cause atrioventricular conduction block and inhibit myocardial contractility and cardiac output.
