It changes the cell membrane function by 1. binding to the subunit of neutrophil tubulin, including inhibiting the chemotaxis, adhesion and phagocytosis of neutrophils; 2. inhibiting phospholipase A2, reducing the release of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by monocytes and neutrophils; 3. inhibiting the production of interleukin-6 by local cells, thereby controlling the pain, swelling and inflammatory response of the joint. Colchicine does not affect the formation, dissolution and excretion of urate, and therefore has no effect on lowering blood uric acid.
