It has a wide range of antibacterial effects on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially on Gram-positive bacteria such as Streptococcus and Pneumococcus, and Gram-negative bacteria such as Gonorrhea, Borrelia, Escherichia coli, Serratia, Klebsiella, Proteus, and Haemophilus influenzae. It also has excellent antibacterial activity against bacteria that produce β-lactamase. Its main mechanism of action is to prevent the synthesis of bacterial cell walls.

This product is a first-generation cephalosporin, which has good antibacterial effect on some strains of Gram-positive cocci such as non-penicillinase-producing and penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase-negative Staphylococci, group A hemolytic streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae and viridans streptococci. Anaerobic Gram-positive bacteria are mostly sensitive to this product, and Bacteroides fragilis is resistant to this product. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococci and Enterococci are resistant to this product. The effect of this product on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria is similar to that of cephalexin. This product has a certain effect on gonococci and is also active against enzyme-producing gonococci; its activity against Haemophilus influenzae is poor.

Broad-spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin has antibacterial effects on hemolytic streptococci, viridans streptococci, pneumococci, penicillin G-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus, gonococci, Haemophilus influenzae, enterococci, Salmonella, Salmonella typhi and Proteus. It has no effect on Staphylococcus aureus that produces penicillinase. Bacteria have complete cross-resistance to this product and ampicillin.
