This product is an intermediate in the synthesis of Schisandrae Chinensis A, which can reduce liver damage and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) elevation caused by carbon tetrachloride, inhibit liver microsomal lipid peroxidation and metabolic conversion to carbon monoxide caused by carbon tetrachloride, reduce the consumption of reduced coenzyme II and oxygen in the metabolic process, and protect the structure and function of liver cell biomembrane; it can reduce the increase of liver ALT induced by prednisone, promote liver regeneration in mice with partial hepatectomy; it has a significant induction effect on cytochrome P450 enzyme activity, and enhances the detoxification ability of carbon tetrachloride and certain carcinogens; it has an effect on improving protein metabolism in some hepatitis patients, increasing albumin and reducing globulin. It has no negative conversion effect on HbsAg and HbeAg, and cannot shrink enlarged liver and spleen.

1. Stimulate the pancreatic beta cells to secrete insulin, which is a prerequisite for the pancreatic beta cells to also have a certain ability to synthesize and secrete insulin; 2. Inhibit liver glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis by increasing portal vein insulin levels or directly acting on the liver, thereby reducing the production and output of glucose by the liver; 3. It may also increase the sensitivity of extra-pancreatic tissues to insulin and the utilization of sugar (possibly mainly through post-receptor effects). Therefore, the overall effect is to lower fasting blood sugar and postprandial blood sugar.
