Phthalide cream

This product is an antiviral drug. It has anti-Chlamydia trachomatis and anti-herpes virus activity. Its mechanism of action is mainly to inhibit viral DNA and early protein synthesis. Phthalidine cannot directly inhibit herpes virus type II DNA polymerase, nor can it directly inactivate herpes virus. This product has a certain antifungal effect on dermatophytes.

The main component of this product is phthalocyanine, chemical name: 3-phthalimido-2-oxobutyraldehyde-1,2-bis(thiosemicarbazone). Molecular formula: C14H15N7O2S2, molecular weight: 377.45.

This product is a yellow ointment with an emulsion base.

Used for herpes simplex and herpes zoster; can also be used for superficial fungal infections such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea manuum and pedis.

For external use, apply to the affected area, 3 times a day for the treatment of herpes simplex and herpes zoster; once in the morning and evening for the treatment of superficial fungal infections, for 3 weeks for tinea corporis and 4 weeks for tinea manuum and pedis.

In a few cases, there are local itching and irritation reactions, such as skin erythema, papules and itching.

Patients allergic to phthalate are contraindicated.
