Function and Efficacy
This product is used for cholesterol gallstone formation and bile-deficient steatorrhea. It can also be used to prevent drug-induced stone formation and treat steatorrhea (after ileal resection).
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is ursodeoxycholic acid. Its chemical name is 3a,7b-dihydroxy-5b-cholestane-24-acid.

Appearance
Ursodeoxycholic acid is a white crystalline powder, odorless and bitter. It is almost insoluble in water, easily soluble in ethanol and glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in imitation, and very slightly soluble in ether. This product is a white tablet.
Indication
This product is used for cholesterol gallstone formation and bile-deficient steatorrhea. It can also be used to prevent drug-induced stone formation and treat steatorrhea (after ileal resection).
Usage and Dosage
Adult oral administration: 8-10 mg/kg daily, divided into two doses during the morning and evening meals. The shortest course of treatment is 6 months. If there is no improvement in ultrasound examination and cholecystography after 6 months, the drug can be discontinued; if the stones have partially dissolved, continue to take the drug until the stones are completely dissolved.
Adverse Reactions
The toxicity and side effects of this product are less than those of chenodeoxycholic acid. It generally does not cause diarrhea. Other occasional adverse reactions include constipation, allergies, headaches, dizziness, pancreatitis, and tachycardia. During the treatment period, it may cause calcification of gallstones and soft stools.
Precautions
Acute biliary infection, biliary obstruction, pregnant and lactating women.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: It is not clear at present. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: It is forbidden for pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: It should be used with caution in elderly patients.
Drug Interactions
1. Contraceptive pills can increase bile saturation. When using this product for treatment, other birth control measures should be taken as much as possible to avoid affecting the efficacy. 2. Cholestyramine (Cholestyramine), colestipol (Colestipol) and aluminum-containing antacids can bind to CDCA and reduce its absorption, so they should not be used together.
