Function and Efficacy

The antibacterial spectrum is similar to that of rifampicin. It has good antibacterial activity against tuberculosis and leprosy. When the dosage is 1/3 of that of rifampicin, similar or higher efficacy can be achieved. It has a good effect on Staphylococcus aureus and has certain antibacterial activity against some Escherichia coli. In addition, it also has an inhibitory effect on Chlamydia trachomatis.

Appearance

This product is a capsule containing bright red or dark red crystalline powder.

Indication

This product is suitable for various types of pulmonary tuberculosis and other tuberculosis, including patients who have developed resistance to multiple anti-tuberculosis drugs. It is also used for leprosy and skin diseases caused by sensitive bacteria.

Usage and Dosage

Oral: 150 mg per day for adults under 50 kg and the elderly, 200 mg per day for adults over 50 kg, 3 mg/kg to 5 mg/kg per day for children (maximum dose not exceeding 200 mg). Take once in the morning on an empty stomach.

Adverse Reactions

The adverse reactions are milder than those of rifampicin. It is mildly irritating to the gastrointestinal tract, with occasional nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc., but has no obvious damage to the kidneys and hematopoietic system.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: The safety of this product for children under 5 years old has not been established. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Rifampicin can cross the placenta and has caused teratogenesis in animal experiments. Although there are no reports of teratogenesis in humans, there is currently insufficient information to show that it can be safely used during pregnancy. Pregnant women under 3 months old are prohibited from using this product. Pregnant women over 3 months old should use it with caution. 2. Rifampicin can be excreted in breast milk. Lactating women should fully weigh the pros and cons before deciding whether to use this product. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly patients have decreased liver function and the dosage should be reduced as appropriate.

Drug Interactions

1. This product has synergistic effects with ethambutol, thiosemicarbazide, isoniazid, streptomycin, p-aminosalicylic acid, tetracycline and sulfonamides without cross-resistance. 2. This product has cross-resistance with rifampicin.
