Cefadroxil Capsules
Function and Efficacy
1. Pharmacology Cefadroxil is a first-generation oral cephalosporin, which has good antibacterial effect on most strains such as penicillinase-producing and non-penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase-negative Staphylococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and group A hemolytic streptococci. It also has certain antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella, Shigella, Haemophilus influenzae, and gonococci. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococci, Enterococci, indole-positive Proteus, Enterobacter, Serratia and other Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bacteroides fragilis are resistant to this product. 2. Pharmacology Cefadroxil is low in toxicity. No death occurred when a high dose of 12600 mg/kg was given to newborn rats; dogs were given 600 mg/kg of this product orally every day, and rats were given 1000 mg/kg of this product orally every day for 6 consecutive months, and no toxic reactions were produced in various tissues and organs.
