Appearance

This product is white tablets.

Indication

Used for gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, reflux esophagitis, upper gastrointestinal bleeding (caused by peptic ulcers, acute stress ulcers, hemorrhagic gastritis), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration, 20 mg (1 tablet) at a time, twice a day, after breakfast, dinner or before bedtime. A course of treatment is 4 to 6 weeks. The maintenance dose is halved after the ulcer heals.

Adverse Reactions

A small number of patients may experience dry mouth, dizziness, insomnia, constipation, diarrhea, rash, facial flushing, leukocytopenia, and occasionally mild transient increase in transaminase.

Precautions

Pregnant women should use it with caution, and breastfeeding women should stop breastfeeding when using it; its safety for children has not been established.

Drug Interactions

This product does not interact with liver cytochrome P450 enzymes, so it does not affect the metabolism of drugs such as theophylline, phenytoin, warfarin and diazepam, nor does it affect the body distribution of procainamide, etc. However, probenecid will inhibit the excretion of famotidine from the renal tubules.
