Function and Efficacy
1. This product is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin with extremely low toxicity. The antibacterial spectrum is similar to that of penicillin, and it has a strong antibacterial effect on grass-green streptococci, hemolytic streptococci, and enterococci. Diphtheria bacillus, anthrax bacillus, Gram-positive anaerobic cocci and bacilli are sensitive to this product; meningococci, pertussis bacilli, and Brucella are also very sensitive. Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella dysenteriae, Proteus, influenza bacilli, pneumococci, gonococci, etc. have different degrees of drug resistance because some strains produce beta-lactamase. Among them, the resistance rate of Escherichia coli is as high as 50-60%. Enterobacter bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and anaerobic Gram-negative bacilli are resistant to this product. 2. This product is mainly used to treat infectious diseases caused by sensitive Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic streptococci, gonococci, meningococci, diphtheria, pertussis, influenza bacilli, Salmonella, Shigella, etc.; such as respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis, whooping cough, etc.), gastroenteritis and digestive tract infections (liver and gallbladder infections, acute and chronic gastroenteritis, bacillary dysentery, typhoid and paratyphoid, etc.), urinary tract infections (gonorrhea, urethritis, cystitis, etc.), soft tissue infections and sepsis, meningitis, endocarditis, etc.

Appearance
The content of this product is white or off-white powder with a slightly bitter taste.
Indication
This product is suitable for the following infections caused by sensitive pathogenic bacteria: 1. Respiratory tract infections: upper respiratory tract infections, bacterial pneumonia, bronchitis, etc.; 2. Urinary tract infections: cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, etc.; 3. Digestive tract infections: bacterial dysentery, etc.; 4. Ear, nose and throat infections: acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, sinusitis, etc.; 5. Skin and soft tissue infections; 6. Gonorrhea.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration: 0.25-0.75 g for adults, 4 times a day. The daily dose for children is 25 mg per kg body weight, 2-4 times a day.
Adverse Reactions
1. The adverse reactions of this product are similar to those of penicillin, with allergic reactions being more common. Rash is the most common reaction, which usually occurs 5 days after medication, in the form of urticaria or maculopapular rash; interstitial nephritis may also occur; anaphylactic shock is occasionally seen. 2. Gastrointestinal reactions such as glossitis, gastritis, nausea, vomiting, enteritis, diarrhea, and mild abdominal pain are also common. 3. Granulocytopenia and thrombocytopenia are occasionally seen in patients taking ampicillin. Antibiotic-related enteritis is rare, and a few patients have elevated serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT).
Precautions
1. Patients who are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins or have a positive penicillin skin test are contraindicated. 2. Patients with uric acid kidney stones, acute gout attacks, and active gastrointestinal ulcers are contraindicated. 3. Children under 2 years old are contraindicated.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: It is forbidden to use in children under 2 years old. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: There are no strict controlled trials for the use of ampicillin in pregnant women, so pregnant women should use this product only when it is necessary. A small amount of ampicillin can be secreted from breast milk, so breastfeeding should be suspended when breastfeeding women take the drug. Precautions for the elderly: Due to the decline of physiological renal function, the dosage should be appropriately reduced.
Drug Interactions
1. Gentamycin: Penicillin, carbenicillin, ampicillin and other penicillin antibiotics can inactivate gentamicin. 2. Glucose solution (pH 3.2; 5.5): Ampicillin is easily inactivated in acidic media, reducing its efficacy. 3. Vitamin C: It can inactivate or reduce the efficacy of ampicillin. 4. Tetracycline: It can reduce the efficacy of penicillin in the treatment of pneumonia, meningitis and scarlet fever. Dietary fiber: It can reduce the absorption of oral ampicillin. 5. Balanced solution: Its lactate root can promote the hydrolysis and reduction of ampicillin sodium (reduced to 75% in 30 minutes). 6. Indomethacin: It can prolong the half-life of penicillin and increase its blood concentration. 7. Aspirin: It can increase the blood concentration of penicillin and prolong the half-life of penicillin from 44.5 minutes to 72.4 minutes (competing for renal tubular secretion). 8.
