Ceftriaxone Sodium
Function and Efficacy
Ceftriaxone sodium is a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin with a low MIC, very stable to beta-lactamase, widely distributed in body fluids and various organs, with few side effects and good stability. It has strong antibacterial activity against Enterobacteriaceae, and both influenza bacilli and gonococci that produce and do not produce beta-lactamase are highly sensitive to this product. It has stronger antibacterial effects on Escherichia coli, aerogenes, various Proteus species and influenza bacilli than second-generation cephalosporins. It has stronger activity against gram-positive cocci such as hemolytic streptococci and pneumococci.
Ingredients
The main component of this product is cefotaxime sodium, and its chemical name is (6R, 7R)-3-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-7-[(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-(methoxyimino)acetylamino]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azacyclo[4,2,0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylate sodium. The molecular formula is C16H16N5NaO7S2, and the molecular weight is 477.45.

It has a synergistic effect with gentamicin or tobramycin against Pseudomonas aeruginosa; it has a synergistic effect with amikacin against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 2. When used in combination with aminoglycoside antibiotics, renal function should be followed up during medication. 3. When large doses of cefotaxime are used in combination with strong diuretics, attention should be paid to changes in renal function. 4. Cefotaxime can be diluted with sodium chloride injection or glucose solution, but cannot be mixed with sodium bicarbonate solution. 5. When used in combination with azlocillin or mezlocillin, the total clearance rate of this product can be reduced. If the two are used in combination, the dose should be appropriately reduced.
