Cinnarizine Tablets
Function and Efficacy
This product is a piperazine calcium channel antagonist, which can block calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle, causing vasodilation and improving cerebral and coronary circulation, especially having a certain selective effect on cerebral blood vessels. This product can inhibit phosphodiesterase, prevent cAMP from decomposing into inactive 5-AMP, thereby increasing the concentration of cAMP in cells, inhibiting the release of various biologically active substances such as histamine, 5-hydroxytryptamine, bradykinin, and also inhibiting the activation of complement C4. The lethal dose for humans is 100-500 mg/kg, and the LD50 (oral administration to mice and rats) is greater than 1g/kg.

Indication
It is used to treat cerebral thrombosis, cerebral embolism, cerebral arteriosclerosis, cerebral hemorrhage recovery period, subarachnoid hemorrhage recovery period, sequelae of brain trauma, inner ear vertigo, coronary artery sclerosis and diseases caused by poor peripheral circulation. In recent years, relevant literature reports show that this product can be used for allergic skin diseases such as chronic urticaria and senile skin itching.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration, 25-50 mg each time, 3 times a day.
Adverse Reactions
Common symptoms include drowsiness, fatigue, and weight gain in some patients (generally transient). Long-term use may occasionally cause depression and extrapyramidal reactions, such as bradykinesia, rigidity, akathisia, dry mouth, muscle pain, and rash.
Precautions
Patients with a history of allergy to this drug or a history of depression are contraindicated using this drug.

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: For lactating women, since this preparation is secreted with breast milk, although there are no reports of teratogenicity and effects on embryonic development, in principle, pregnant and lactating women should not use this drug. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
Drug Interactions
(1) When used in combination with alcohol, hypnotics or sedatives, the sedative effect is aggravated. (2) When used in combination with phenytoin sodium or carbamazepine, the blood concentration of cinnarizine can be reduced.
