Function and Efficacy

This product is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Its effect on Gram-positive bacteria is similar to that of cefazolin, but it is more effective against Gram-negative bacteria, such as Haemophilus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus mirabilis, etc. It also has antibacterial effects on Enterobacter, Citrobacter, indole-positive Proteus, etc. Its mechanism of action is to bind to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell membrane, acylate transpeptidase, inhibit the synthesis of bacterial septum and cell wall, affect the cross-linking of cell wall mucopeptide components, inhibit cell division and growth, elongate the bacterial morphology, and finally dissolve and die.

The main ingredient of this product is ceftriaxone hydrochloride, and its chemical name is (6R-trans)-7-[[(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)acetyl]amino]-3-[[[1-[(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]-1H-tetrazol-5-yl]thiomethyl]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid dihydrochloride.

Appearance

This product is white or slightly yellow powder.

Indication

Used to treat infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, bile tract infection, peritonitis, urinary tract infection, as well as infections and sepsis caused by surgery and trauma.

Usage and Dosage

Intramuscular injection, intravenous injection or intravenous injection. 1. Intramuscular injection: Dissolve with 0.25% lidocaine injection and inject deeply into the muscle. 2. Intravenous injection: Dissolve with sterile water for injection, sodium chloride injection or 5% glucose injection, dilute each 0.5g drug into about 20ml, and inject slowly. 3. Intravenous drip: Dissolve the single dose in an appropriate amount of 5% glucose injection, sodium chloride injection or amino acid infusion, and drip within 30 minutes. 4. The usual dose for adults is 1 to 2g per day, divided into 2 to 4 times. For severe infections, such as sepsis, up to 4g per day can be used. 5. Children should take 40 to 80mg/kg per day according to their body weight, and when they are seriously ill, it can be increased to 160mg/kg per day, divided into 3 to 4 times.

Adverse Reactions

Allergic reactions, gastrointestinal reactions, changes in blood counts, and transient elevations in serum aminotransferases may occur occasionally. Changes in intestinal flora may result in vitamin B and K deficiencies. Secondary infections may occur occasionally. Large amounts of intravenous injection may cause vascular pain and thrombophlebitis.

Precautions

It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics.

Special Population Medication

Precautions during pregnancy and lactation: Although there have been no reports of problems with the use of cephalosporins in pregnant and lactating women, their use still requires weighing the pros and cons. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly patients have reduced renal function and the dose must be adjusted.

Drug Interactions

1. When used in combination with aminoglycoside antibiotics, it is generally believed that there is a synergistic effect, but it may aggravate renal damage. Administering them in the same container may affect the potency of the drug. 2. When used in combination with strong diuretics such as furosemide, it may cause renal damage.
