Function and Efficacy

This product is a long-acting tricyclic antihistamine that competitively inhibits histamine H1 receptors and inhibits allergic symptoms caused by histamine. This product has no obvious anticholinergic and central nervous system inhibitory effects. Toxicological animal tests have not found obvious teratogenic effects.

Ingredients

Each tablet of this product contains 10 mg of loratadine. The excipients are: hydroxypropyl cellulose, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, sodium carboxymethyl starch, magnesium stearate, polyacrylic acid resin IV, ethanol, polyethylene glycol 6000, titanium dioxide, talc, magnesium stearate.

Appearance

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears white or off-white after removing the coating.

Indication

It is used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose and itchy nose, as well as itching and burning sensation in the eyes. It is also used to relieve symptoms of chronic urticaria and other allergic skin diseases.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration. Adults and children over 12 years old: once a day, 1 tablet (10 mg) each time. Children aged 2 to 12 years old: weighing 30 kg: once a day, 1 tablet (10 mg) each time. Weight ≤ 30 kg: once a day, half a tablet (5 mg) each time.

Adverse Reactions

The main symptoms include headache, drowsiness, fatigue, dry mouth, blurred vision, low or high blood pressure, palpitations, syncope, hyperkinesia, changes in liver function, jaundice, hepatitis, liver necrosis, hair loss, epileptic seizures, breast enlargement, erythema multiforme and systemic allergic reactions.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or have special physical conditions.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: The safety of this product for children under 12 years old has not been determined. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women should use with caution. Breastfeeding should be stopped during medication. Precautions for the elderly: Mild to moderate impairment of liver and kidney function has no significant effect on the metabolism and excretion of this drug, so the dosage for elderly patients is the same as that for adults.

Drug Interactions

1. Taking ketoconazole, macrolide antibiotics, cimetidine and other drugs at the same time will increase the concentration of loratadine in plasma and should be used with caution. Other drugs known to inhibit liver metabolism should be used with caution before the interaction with loratadine is clearly confirmed; 2. If used with other drugs at the same time, drug interactions may occur. Please consult a doctor or pharmacist for details.
