Ibuprofen

It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, and is suitable for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and neuritis.

1. Common dosage for adults: Oral: ① Anti-rheumatic, 0.4g~0.6g once, 3~4 times a day, rheumatoid arthritis requires a larger dosage than osteoarthritis. ② Analgesia for mild or moderate pain and dysmenorrhea, 0.2~0.4g once, once every 4~6 hours. The maximum limit for adult use is generally 2.4g per day. 2. Common dosage for children: Oral once according to body weight 5~10mg/kg, 3 times a day. 3. Liniment for external use.

1.1 Allergic rash, burning sensation or indigestion, stomach pain or discomfort (gastrointestinal irritation or ulcer formation), nausea, vomiting, dizziness, etc., with an incidence of 3-9%; 1.2 Itchy skin, tinnitus, lower limb edema or sudden weight gain, abdominal distension, constipation, diarrhea, loss or disappearance of appetite, headache, mental tension, etc., with an incidence of 1-3%; 1.3 Bloody stools or tarry stools (gastrointestinal bleeding), allergic nephritis, cystitis, nephrotic syndrome, renal papillary necrosis or renal failure, urticaria, bronchospasm, blurred vision, deafness, decreased liver function, mental confusion, drowsiness, insomnia, etc. are rare, with an incidence of <1%. 1.4 Individual cases have rash, indigestion, gastrointestinal ulcers and bleeding, and elevated transaminase. 2 The most common adverse reactions are gastrointestinal system, with an incidence of up to 30%, ranging from abdominal discomfort to severe bleeding or recurrence of peptic ulcers. Adverse reactions of the central nervous system are extremely common, but mild, such as headache or dizziness. Long-term and high-dose use may cause blood diseases or kidney damage. The hepatotoxic effect is very mild. Allergic reactions are uncommon, and fever, abdominal pain, headache, nausea and vomiting accompanied by rash may occur. Liver damage may even cause meningitis symptoms. 3 Salt and fluid retention are common when using this drug, which can cause congestive heart failure, but it is rare. 4 This drug can cause asthma attacks in susceptible people. It can cause bronchoconstriction in asthma patients. 5 Central nervous system symptoms are more common, among which headache, dizziness, tinnitus and insomnia have the highest incidence, but depression or other mental symptoms rarely occur. Some central nervous system symptoms such as pseudomeningitis, meningitis, drowsiness and irritability may be due to allergic reactions. 6 This drug has a strong gastrotoxic effect, and the incidence of various gastrointestinal irritation symptoms (such as nausea, vomiting, anorexia, indigestion, heartburn, abdominal pain, occult blood, vomiting blood and ulcer attacks causing heavy bleeding) is extremely high, generally around 30-40%. Pain and irritation of the rectal mucosa may occur after using ibuprofen suppositories. 7 Ibuprofen inhibits platelet aggregation both in vivo and in vitro. When the dose is less than 1g, there is no significant change in the coagulation test; but at high doses, it can prolong the bleeding time, but not as much as aspirin. It can also induce various blood diseases of varying degrees, such as agranulocytosis, granulocytopenia, thrombocytopenia and fatal pancytopenia. There are reports of difficult-to-recover leukocyte aplasia with increased bone marrow plasma cells and complement dependent on IgG antibodies in the serum. In some cases, anemia may occur due to gastrointestinal occult blood. 8 It increases the concentration of uric acid in plasma, sometimes even to a pathological significance. Allergic skin reactions are uncommon, mostly transient urticaria, purpuric or erythematous changes, often accompanied by itching. There are also reports of hair loss.
