Precautions for children: The safety and effectiveness of this product in children have not been confirmed. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Experiments have shown that didanosine can be transferred to the fetus through the rat placenta. There have been no fully verified studies in pregnant women. Animal reproduction experiments cannot fully predict human responses to drugs. Therefore, didanosine should generally not be used during pregnancy. Fatal, lactic acidosis has been reported in pregnant women who took didanosine, stavudine and other anti-HIV drugs at the same time. It is not clear whether lactic acidosis and pancreatitis caused by nucleoside drugs in pregnant women are more dangerous than those in non-pregnant women. Pregnant women should be alert to the occurrence of lactic acidosis and pancreatitis when taking didanosine, and diagnose them early. Lactating women: HIV-infected women are advised not to breastfeed so that children who may not have been infected can avoid HIV infection. Studies on rats show that the elderly precautions: When this product is used to treat HIV patients over 65 years old, the incidence of pancreatitis is about 10%, while the incidence of general patients is 5%. There are not enough clinical cases of elderly people taking this product, so it is difficult to determine the difference between the incidence of pancreatitis in the elderly and the incidence of general patients. Didanosine affects the renal function of patients and causes toxic reactions, especially in patients with renal insufficiency. Therefore, the elderly are more likely to cause further damage to renal function, and appropriate dosages must be formulated.
