Function and Efficacy
A macrolide antibiotic produced by Streptomyces, with an antibacterial spectrum similar to that of erythromycin. Its antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus and Streptococcus is slightly worse than that of erythromycin, but it still has antibacterial activity against induced resistant strains; meningococci and Bordetella pertussis are sensitive to this product; it has good antibacterial effect on anaerobic bacteria such as Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Propionibacterium and Eubacterium; intracellular pathogens such as Mycoplasma, Chlamydia and Legionella are also sensitive to this product. This product does not induce Staphylococcus to macrolide resistance, and is a non-inducible antibiotic.

Appearance
This product is a sugar-coated tablet, which appears white or off-white after removing the sugar coating.
Indication
This product is suitable for pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, sinusitis, otitis media, acute bronchitis and oral abscess caused by sensitive bacteria, pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae, skin and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria, and can also be used for infections with Staphylococci resistant to penicillin and erythromycin.
Usage and Dosage
Adults: 0.8-1.2g per day, and for severe infections, the dosage can be increased to 1.6g per day; for children: 30mg/kg per day based on body weight, divided into 3-4 times and taken on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 3-4 hours after a meal).
Adverse Reactions
1. Abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and other digestive tract reactions may occur, with an incidence rate of less than 10%. 2. Allergic reactions such as rashes are occasionally seen. 3. Gray baby syndrome has not been found in premature infants and newborns. Only individual cases have been reported of transient skin and facial pallor. 4. This product can also cause toxic reactions in the hematopoietic system, mainly manifested as reversible inhibition of erythropoiesis, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia; aplastic anemia is rare.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not clear yet. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Since this product can pass through the blood-placental barrier, although it cannot be detected in the blood of newborns and fetuses, pregnant women should still weigh the pros and cons when taking this product. 2. Since this product can enter breast milk, lactating women should stop breastfeeding when taking it during breastfeeding. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly patients taking large doses of this product may cause hearing loss, but most of them can recover after stopping the drug.
Drug Interactions
1. This product does not affect the action of liver drug metabolizing enzymes and has no incompatibility with theophylline, oral contraceptives and cyclosporine. 2. This product may interfere with the bactericidal activity of penicillins when used in combination. 3. This product has no obvious effect on the metabolism of drugs such as aminophylline.
