Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: When giving this product to children, the serum calcium value and the calcium/chromium ratio in urine should be fully observed. At the same time, the dosage should be carefully controlled and gradually increased from a small amount to avoid overdose. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The safety of the drug for pregnant and lactating women has not yet been established. Precautions for the elderly: Generally speaking, due to the low physiological function of the elderly, the dosage should be taken with caution.
Drug Interactions
1 Calcium agents: Combination with calcium agents may cause elevated blood calcium, so blood calcium should be monitored. 2 Thiazide diuretics: This type of diuretic can promote the kidney's absorption of calcium, and there is a risk of hypercalcemia when used together. 3 Digitalis glycosides: Hypercalcemia in patients taking digitalis drugs can easily induce arrhythmias. If this drug is used in combination, blood calcium should be closely monitored. 4 Barbiturates, anticonvulsants: These drugs can accelerate the metabolism of active vitamin D metabolites in the liver and reduce the efficacy of the drug, so the dose of this drug should be appropriately increased. 5 Gastrointestinal absorption inhibitors: Cholestyramine or aluminum-containing antacids can reduce the absorption of this drug. The two should not be taken at the same time, and should be taken 2 hours apart.
