Function and Efficacy

This product is a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist. Animal experiments show that this product has no obvious anticholinergic and anti-5-hydroxytryptamine effects, and is not easy to pass through the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier to act on the central H1 receptor. When used clinically, the central inhibitory effect is relatively mild.

Ingredients

Each tablet of this product contains 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride. The excipients are lactose, starch, povidone K90, and magnesium stearate. Chemical name: (plusmn;)-2-[2-[4-[(4-chlorophenyl)benzyl]-1-piperazinyl]ethoxy]acetic acid dihydrochloride.

Appearance

This product is an oval film-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the coating.

Indication

Used for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and skin itching and urticaria caused by allergies.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration. Recommended for adults and children over 2 years old. 1. Adults: 1 tablet at a time, can be taken with a small amount of liquid at dinner. If sensitive to adverse reactions, can be taken once a day in the morning and evening, half a tablet each time. 2. Children aged 6-12 years: 1 tablet at a time, once a day; or half a tablet at a time, twice a day. 3. Children aged 2-6 years: half a tablet at a time, once a day; or 1/4 tablet at a time, twice a day.

Adverse Reactions

Occasionally, patients have been reported to have mild and transient adverse reactions, such as headache, dizziness, drowsiness, agitation, dry mouth, and abdominal discomfort. In objective tests to measure psychomotor function, the sedative effect of this product is similar to that of a placebo. Allergic reactions have rarely been reported.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.
