Valsartan Capsules

This product is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. This product can selectively act on the AT1 receptor subtype known to be related to the action of angiotensin II, selectively block the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor of tissue cells such as the adrenal glands and vascular smooth muscle, inhibit vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, and produce a hypotensive effect. The affinity of this product for AT1 receptors is about 20,000 times higher than that for AT2 receptors. This product does not affect the action of bradykinin and ion channel function, nor does it bind to the receptors of other hormones that play an important regulatory role in cardiovascular function. This product has no carcinogenic, teratogenic, mutagenic toxicity, and no reproductive toxicity.

This product is a hard capsule, and the contents are white powder.

Valsartan is suitable for all types of mild to moderate hypertension, especially for patients who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors.

Oral administration, 1 tablet at a time, once a day.

Adverse reactions are rare, mild and transient: 1. Mild headache, dizziness, fatigue, abdominal pain, dry cough, and postural blood pressure changes are rare. 2. Increased blood potassium, decreased neutrophils, decreased hemoglobin and hematocrit, increased blood creatinine and transaminase are occasionally seen. 3. There are reports of adverse reactions such as diarrhea, rhinitis, pharyngitis, joint pain, and nausea.

It is contraindicated for people who are allergic to this product. It is contraindicated for pregnant women.

Precautions for children: There is no relevant research on the effectiveness and safety of this product for children and adolescents (under 18 years old). Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women are prohibited from using it. Precautions for the elderly: Although the systemic exposure concentration of valsartan in the elderly is slightly higher than that in young people, it has no clinical significance.

There is no significant interaction between this product and amlodipine, atenolol, cimetidine, digoxin, furosemide, glibenclamide, hydrochlorothiazide, and indomethacin. The antihypertensive effect of this product combined with atenolol is higher than that of either alone, but it cannot further reduce the heart rate compared with atenolol alone. The pharmacokinetics of this product are not changed when it is used in combination with warfarin, and the anticoagulant effect of warfarin is not affected by this product. When used in combination with potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium preparations, or potassium-containing salt substitutes, it can increase blood potassium.
