Calcium Chloride and Sodium Bromide Injection
Function and Efficacy
Calcium ions can improve the permeability of cell membranes, increase the density of capillary walls, reduce exudation, and have an anti-allergic effect. Bromide ions can strengthen the inhibitory process of the cerebral cortex, produce a sedative effect, and restore the imbalance caused by the excitement and inhibition process to normal.
Ingredients
This product is a compound preparation, each containing 0.1g calcium chloride and 0.25g sodium bromide. The auxiliary material is water for injection, and the pH value is adjusted with an appropriate amount of hydrochloric acid.

Appearance
This product is a colorless clear liquid.
Indication
1. Treatment of acute hypocalcemia: commonly used to treat tetany, alkalosis, primary or secondary hypoparathyroidism caused by low calcium; 2. Prevention of chronic hypocalcemia: commonly used for vitamin D deficiency rickets, osteomalacia, calcium salt supplementation for pregnant and lactating women; 3. Treatment of allergic diseases: commonly used for urticaria, serum sickness, angioedema, etc.; 4. Rescue of magnesium salt poisoning; 5. Glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
Usage and Dosage
0.5-1g each time, generally use 10-20ml of 5% calcium chloride injection, dilute with an equal amount of 10%-25% glucose injection and slowly push it intravenously. Avoid injecting too quickly.
Adverse Reactions
1. Oral calcium has almost no adverse reactions; 2. When injected intravenously, the whole body may feel hot. If calcium salt leaks out of the blood vessels during intravenous injection, the strong stimulation of the tissue may cause severe local pain or tissue necrosis. At this time, 0.5% procaine can be used for local blockade; 3. Too high a concentration or too fast an intravenous injection may cause arrhythmia, even ventricular fibrillation or cardiac arrest during systole.
Precautions
1. It is contraindicated for patients with hypertension. 2. It is contraindicated for patients with edema, oliguria and salt taboo.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Children should use this product with caution because their blood vessels are thinner. Generally, this product is not used in children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not clear. Precautions for the elderly: Use with caution.
Drug Interactions
1. When used with estrogen, it can increase calcium absorption. 2. When used with thiazide diuretics, it can increase the kidney's reabsorption of calcium and cause hypercalcemia. 3. Increasing the amount of salt in food or giving hydrothiazide can promote bromide excretion.
Storage
Keep tightly closed.
