Cefathiamidine for injection

The main ingredient of this product is cefathiamidine, and its chemical name is (6R,7R)-3-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-7-[α-(N,N-diisopropylamidinothio)acetylamino]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid betaine.

This product is white to slightly yellow crystalline powder; almost odorless and hygroscopic.

Used for respiratory system, hepatobiliary system, ENT, urinary tract infections, endocarditis and sepsis caused by sensitive bacteria.

Intramuscular injection: 0.5g~1.0g once, 4 times a day; children can take 50~100mg/kg per day according to their body weight, divided into 3~4 doses. Intravenous injection: 2g once, 2~4 times a day; children can take 50~100mg/kg per day according to their body weight, divided into 2~4 doses. Dissolve the mixture in sterile water for injection or sodium chloride injection solution before use.

The main adverse reactions are urticaria, asthma, skin itching, chills and high fever, angioneurotic edema, etc. Occasionally, blood urea nitrogen, alanine aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase increase after treatment. A small number of patients may experience neutropenia, Candida, Staphylococcus, etc. after medication.

Patients who are allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics or have a history of anaphylactic shock caused by penicillin are contraindicated.

After intramuscular injection of this product combined with probenecid 1g, the 12-hour urine excretion volume dropped to 65.7% of the administered dose.
