Indication
Replenish heat energy and body fluids.
Usage and Dosage
Intravenous drip. The infusion rate for children is 50-100 ml per hour, and the infusion rate for newborns and premature infants should not exceed 100 ml per hour. It should be adjusted according to the patient's age, symptoms and weight.
Adverse Reactions
1 Excessive and rapid infusion can cause water and sodium retention, resulting in edema, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, chest tightness, dyspnea, and even acute left heart failure. 2 Improper administration of hypertonic sodium chloride can cause hypernatremia. 3 Excessive and rapid administration of hypotonic sodium chloride can cause hemolysis, cerebral edema, etc. 4 Phlebitis: occurs when hypertonic glucose injection is dripped. The incidence of phlebitis decreases when a large vein is used for drip. 5 Extravasation of high-concentration solution injection can cause local swelling and pain. 6 Reactive hypoglycemia: It is prone to occur when combined with excessive use of insulin, the original tendency to hypoglycemia, and the sudden cessation of total intravenous nutrition therapy. 7
Precautions
1. Patients with brain, kidney and heart dysfunction; 2. Patients with low plasma protein; 3. Patients with uncontrolled diabetes and ketoacidosis; 4. Patients with hyperosmotic dehydration; 5. Hyperosmotic state of hyperglycemia.
